Discover the colorful and cheerful world of the Sunny Summer collection. Inspired by the marine world, this collection aims to bring the seaside theme back into style. The Sunny Summer collection reimagines iconic images—such as whales, lobsters, seashells, anchors, and sardines—with vibrant colors and a detailed ornamental style, accompanied by the famous stripes reminiscent of sailor shirts and beach huts. All of these illustrations are hand-painted in gouache; they were then scanned in high definition to be made available in digital format.
“What is the digital format?” you might ask. It’s simple: when you place an order in the store, you’ll be purchasing digital files that you can download and print either directly on your home printer or through your favorite print shop, if you’d like higher print quality. How did the Sunny Summer collection come about?
The Sunny Summer collection was born out of a desire to create a colorful, fun, and relaxed world inspired by the seaside. This seaside theme isn’t new—it’s been around forever in a more classic form, often used to decorate bathrooms, beach restaurants, or beach houses. For this collection, I wanted to draw on iconic elements of this theme and turn them, initially, into decorative posters that could be displayed in any space, with the aim of bringing a splash of summer color. Below you’ll find my initial inspiration mood board for this collection, featuring images I found on Pinterest and a color palette I developed from them.
