Take four tubes of gouache and just go for it—that’s pretty much what this yellow-and-green flower design comes down to. The painting inspired me as I applied each brushstroke. The beauty of gouache is that it makes each flower unique, with slightly different shapes and varied textural effects (smooth, grainy, thick…). You can imagine this all-over pattern on fabric items (cushions, toiletries bags) or even on tableware.
